Stay away from cans

For longest while I had mysterious heartburns after eating really "safe" foods like canned beans or fish; would happen even with organic kind. I was obviously blaming it on all the wrong factors, until someone pointed out to me that to keep canned food safe it needs to be acidic. FDA even provides guidance to producers around how acidic it needs to be http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceRegulation/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation/AcidifiedLACF/default.htm. Well, guess what, acidic and heartburn are not good together. If you are a fan of beans I would start from dried and avoid cans.
